Claire Hall and I decided to write the book, Empowered Fertility, to provide a clear, insightful and helpful resource to enable people to empower themselves to not only deal with infertility but navigate the often difficult and confusing path through IVF.
Claire and I first met in 2012. Immediately, I knew that her approach would help so many women and couples that I see who can find it challenging to cope with the emotional and physical ups and downs of infertility. Claire has worked with dozens of my patients since then, and nearly all have found the experience worthwhile.
We knew that individual coaching could only reach a limited few, so at that first meeting we committed to writing a book that would be able to help many, many more. So, four years after our first cup of coffee the book, EMPOWERED FERTILITY was published.
The EMPOWERED FERTILITY book is a practical guide for women and men to help them cope with their psychological wellbeing, their emotions, family and friends and their attitudes during a very difficult time.
It contains clearly structured and expressed information and offers practical steps to assist them as they go through the processes of treatment for infertility.
Each section of the book gives the reader information and support to address physical, psychological, emotional and social challenges that can arise when dealing with infertility and also with IVF treatment. Subjects include managing expectations, dealing with fear, releasing control and handling changes in relationships.
The reader can work through at their own pace, making use of the coaching tools and exercises to help with each step. For readers who are starting or in the midst of IVF treatment, the last section of the book forms an IVF Cycle Handbook, to guide women through their experience.
Infertility can be a very lonely experience, our intention throughout the EMPOWERED FERTILITY book is to provide a voice that normalises, grounds and empowers you out of your current thinking and into a new state of well-being, regardless of where you are in your personal journey.
